I Finally Finished That Blasted Sweater....

Well the top down seamless is done and I'm so pleased with it. Much thanks to Kristi for clueing me in about the Jeny's Surprisingly stretchy bind off I used for the neck. It was fantastic.

We also have a gorgeous variegated scarf by Amber.

And a beautiful lace shawl that Kristi is working on.

The Darling Buds of Trilby

Gosh I hope I spelled her name right. Anywho Trilby has joined our little endevor and has been making the most wonderful polymer clay flowers. I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to get pics of her buds and blossoms and in the end her's were the only pics I took. Ah well next time I'll get a pic of the lovely coffee cozy that Amber is knitting too, as well as The Sweater That Wouldn't End!!! that I'm still working on (preferably finished of course.)

Our chosen entertainment for the night, a sexy 80s mullet and a big bang. Guess you can't go to far wrong there...

At the end of the Rainbow...

... bet you thought it was gold huh, nope, it's Dusty. Amber's lovely Noro scarf (in progress) was rolled out in front of her. She was checking it out when I got out the camera, and she looked up just as I took the shot.

Amber shared some of her lovely new yarn finds with us, and kindly sported her finished loom knit hat in Simply Soft and her finished basketweave scarf.

Of course Archie decided she needed puppy kisses to sell the whole ensemble.

And here we have Deena's afghan (in progress) I just love the colors in this one, all beautiful jewel tones.

And of course we have Zeke, sporting his finished manly (with small flecks of color for personality of course) hat and scarf set. Which both turned out rather well.

I've got to get on the ball here...

So Sooo... long ago I used to post regularly here. Ack! my new job has been something of a distraction. But here we are again. We'll start things off by posting some gratuitous cat pictures...
We also have Amber's latest project, and my first ever shop sample for my new place of work. It's very pumkiny wumpkiny no?

Amber's Fabulous Shawl

Ta Da... Amber finished her fabulous shawl. A beautiful pattern created by Kristi. Its just lovely in a gorgeous variegated purple/blue.

And these little critters are towashis (ack, hope I'm spelling that right). Kristi made up a couple of these and they are so neat... but don't look too close, you'll be mesmerized!

And here we have Amber's bicolor basketweave, I just love the heathered colors in this.

This is my first attempt at useing the top down seamless sweater formula to make something for myself, fingers crossed.

And here's one of our darling knitting mascots Libby... you can tell she's way excited about the yarn huh? ;)

Big Knits

Boy it took me some time to get this posted, but the Rowan shrug is finished and is now displayed in the store. I'm quite pleased with it. I even made the big button to go with it out of polymer clay. It has a neat little celtic knot embelishment.
This was my first time working with a bulky and I knew it would knit up fast but I didn't realise just how fast. I highly recomend using the Rowan big wool for quick, wonderful, and very satisfying knits. :)

National Lampoon's... Knitting Night?

Sorry I'm so late getting this posted. Seems I failed to get any pics of this weeks knit in, but I still have these.... so bask in the knitty glow of our latest projects.

Oh, and I loved seeing National Lampoon's European Vacation again... I hadn't seen that since I was a kid, fun times. :)

Oh yeah and here's pis of Aaron being bugged by us as he was trying to take a nap. Again... fun times :)

Winter Knits in the Summer...

Well I finished up the bi color scarf I was working on using the long loom that Amber gave me and the English streetwise chunky I'd been wanting to use. It turned out nicely, and really thick too!. It is definitely one for the winter though. I've got enough left over to maybe make the brim of a matching hat. I showed it to Savanna while it was still in progress and told her that it might make a nice little scarf for her or Leroy when it got cold again. She informed me that "it would make a nice little scarf for me" Ah to be young and greedy again.... nah, seriously she's very sweet, and in any case you know she likes the stuff I make for her which is also very cool.

Lady Godiva Strolls by....

Introducing Kristi's Lady Godiva Gauntlets... because when you're wearing silk and Qiviut who cares what else you're wearing. These are just gorgeous! I'm currently going through the pattern now so as to test it out for her before she markets it, it's been fun so far...

And this is Amber's latest in fun fur adventures... I sound like the Price is Right announcer talking about the vacation packages at the end of the show...

It's a wonderful new slipper sock with two contrasting (yet complementary) colors, and a fun fur cuff, yummy!

And here we have one of those lightning fast shawls that Kristi is making for the cabin... she's got several of these now and every one of them has turned out just lovely.

Super Knits!

Hello again, Well I posted the pics from my latest visit to Amber's, here we have (courtesy of Amber) a lovely, and extremely soft and touchable hat :) and a second pair of socks surrounding my Supergirl tote.

And she has here a lovely pair of slipper socks.

And I've been working on my scarf/possibly could be a shrug (quite long now).

And lastly a lovely green throw from the back of her couch.

Imagine me an Alligator...

OK, so today's post is a little pic heavy. I finished Gertie the Gator (actually she's supposed to be a crocodile) in all her grand green goodness.

Of course, once again, the more angels the better.

Zeke and Amber were nice enough to give me a ride home and introduce me to the you tube wonder that is Connie Talbot. I must share this with Savanna... Connie has her own videos out now. Oh, and Amber is pretending to use proto Gertie as a Q-tip. :)

And of course I had to show off my new Knit Geek shirt from Memories and More. Here I am doing my muppet smile... basically you just open your mouth and through out your arms and everyone thinks you're smiling (hey, if it works for puppets).

Proto Gertie... nuff said.

And lastly we have here a pic of Amber's lovely burgundy wrap. I adore the feathery design it sports. Just perfect for the change in season.

This Little Piggy...

Well I finished my 1st Alan Dart amigurumi. I like him (well obviously I took more than one picture right?) Nothing denotes interest more than wanting to take multiple pictures of the same subject at different angles... or maybe it's not just interest, maybe it's an obsession, yes... I will definitely be making some more of these. Up next (I hope) a happy little alligator. Oh, and much thanks to Kristi for winding up all those colorful little cakes, it made it very handy for me to do this project. I think I'll call him Hambert.

Felted Fuchsia Bag!

Well I finished the bag. I think it turned out rather well. I did one fuchsia with the simple interior petals and one with the ruffled interior petals. Oh, the pattern is by Noni, credit where credit is due and all that... :)

Amber's 1st Mosaic Knit!

Well here it is (hopefully my pictures are in order). This is Amber's first mosaic knit. She brought it into the shop and I didn't have my camera with me (actually now that I work in a knitting shop you'd think I'd just bring along the camera everyday) but now here it is. I love mosaic knitting... so much color mixing and you're only ever working with one strand of color at a time. If that's not magic I don't know what is.

I also got a shot of the new scarf she's making, a manly scarf with a nice broad rib and little color flecks throughout (my camera might not be picking them up here). It looks great, makes me want to make Aaron another scarf... though he does have quite a few...

And lastly we have Kristis latest sock venture, love the colors here, and look Libby's inspecting it too. Good to know the cats will always be around for quality control. :)
